Ether, XRP, and Dogecoin Dive as Tech Stocks Tumble — Bitcoin Holds

Crypto markets face turbulence as Ether, XRP, and Dogecoin drop with tech stocks. Bitcoin holds its support amid AI investment shifts.

Ether, XRP, and dogecoin took a beating as the crypto market joined a global tech stock slide, plunging harder than Bitcoin. "Bitcoin has pulled back into the $50,000 to $60,000 zone today, and if history is any guide, this is where buyers step in," said Gabe Selby, head of research at CF Benchmarks, according to CoinDesk.

Bitcoin's decline, partly driven by large holders offloading in a jittery market, aligns with a broader investor pivot toward AI-related stocks. This shift has depleted crypto's share of risk appetite, Selby noted, emphasizing that it's less about cracks in crypto itself and more about a market cooldown.

Selby outlined key levels: Bitcoin flirting with the $55,000 support, while $61,000 to $62,000 beckons as the bulls' target. Bitcoin hovered around $59,888, down 2.7% on the day, reflecting a hesitant market.

Ethereum, XRP, and dogecoin led the crypto casualties. Ethereum fell 5.6% in 24 hours to $1,555, marking a weekly drop of 7.9%. XRP was down 4.9% at $1.03, accumulating an 8.5% weekly loss, while dogecoin slid 3.8% to $0.074, shrinking 9.8% over the week. Solana fared slightly better, losing 1.2% over the week, as noted by CoinDesk.

Beyond crypto, a tech stock rout loomed large. Apple's 6.1% drop, linked to price hikes on major products, stirred fears of slowing the AI-fueled memory-chip rally. South Korea's Kospi dropped as much as 9%, sparking its second trading halt this week, with SK Hynix and Samsung plunging over 8%, CoinDesk reported.

As Brent crude descended below $74 a barrel, adding its own pressures, crypto found little solace. Yet, amidst the turmoil, Tron managed a slight uptick, rising 0.4%. Hyperliquid's HYPE token wasn't so lucky, falling 5.4%, further demonstrating the strain on altcoins.

In the vortex of these financial currents, there's an unmistakable tension: crypto finds itself at a crossroads, fighting for investment attention as AI narratives dominate. The coming days will test Bitcoin's resilience within its historic support zone, a saga likely to unfold with the market's every tremor.
